Maths Study Clinic
A guided space to work - not another class to sit through.
Your child already knows how to study alone. They just need someone rotating through, at the right moment,
asking the right question - before a small confusion snowballs.
$60/session
✽ Just That One Question...
Your child don't need to learn from scratch.
They can read a question, attempt it, and work through most of it on their own.
What they don't have is someone checking in, at the precise moment when they start to go off track, to keep them in the momentum.
Full tuition is too much, but doing it alone isn't enough.
That gap is where Study Clinic sits.
Online, Self-Driven
Study Clinic is an online, self-driven work session. It's not meant to be a lecture, or a teaching lesson.
Your child logs in, work independently, inside their own private room.
I rotate between every student's room in real time, watch they are working, and stepping in with short, pointed question exactly when it's needed. Then I will move on.
No long explanations. No spoon-feeding. Just enough to unlock the thinking that's already theirs, and get them moving again.
✽ Thinking of engaging for tuition?
Thinking about tuition?
Start here instead of a trial lesson.
Most trial lessons are merely "Show and Tells".
It's just a performance. A formal introduction, an easy assessment - basically doing a vibe check. You leave the trial unsure if your child can sustain this hype in the future weeks, not to even mention to thrive and improve in under tutelage of the tutor.
Study Clinic isn't staged. Your child works exactly as they would in a real session - independently, on their own problems, with me stepping in only when needed. What you see is genuinely how I teach, and how your child genuinely works, side by side.
If you are deciding whether MathSifu is the right fit for your child, book a Study Clinic session first. It's a more honest 90 minutes than any trial lesson.
How It Works
Book a slot that fits your schedule, flexible, no fixed weekly commitment.
Your child logs in into Zoom and work on their own materials (e.g. schoolwork, SLS, assessment books, practice papers, etc.) independently.
I rotate through, live - observing and intervene with short Socratic questioning when they are stuck. In and out. No hovering.
They keep working - with just enough of a nudge to stay unstuck, not enough to stop thinking for themselves.
Who is This For?
This mode of learning works best for students who can:
- Sit through an online session independently, without needing constant supervision.
- Read and attempt a question before asking for help.
- Communicate clearly when asking for help.
Suitable for Primary 4 through Secondary 4 students who fit this profile - regardless of current academic level. This is not about how strong they are in Math. It's about whether they're ready to work independently, with the right support on standby.
This also makes Study Clinic the honest starting point for two different situations.
- You already know Study Clinic is what your child needs - flexible, low-commitment academic support.
- You're deciding whether MathSifu is the right fit at all - and want to see how your child actually responds to my teaching, not a staged version of it.
Either way, the session runs exactly the same. No separate 'trial mode.'

Common Questions
Is this the same as regular tuition?
Not quite. Study Clinic is not for me to run through new content from scratch. Your child works through their own materials - while I rotate between students, stepping in short questioning only when they are stuck. Think of it as guided independent work, not instruction.
How do I know if my child is a good fit for this?
Study Clinic works best for students who can attempt question on their own before asking for help, and study independently in an online setting without external supervision, and communicate clearly when they are stuck. If you are not sure, book one session and find out - the format itself will make it obvious either way.
What if my child struggles to work independently during the session?
Then you've learned something important - not just about this format, but what kind of support your child actually needs right now.
I'll follow up separately after the session with you on what I observed and what I'd suggest next, whether that's Study Clinic, a different format, or something else entirely.
What does my child need to prepare for the session?
They would need to prepare their own working materials. It can be from any source offline or online. They will be working on these materials most of the time as part of their own learning and revision.
Here are some examples:
- School homework
- Tuition homework
- Koobits
- SLS
- External assessment books
What if we want to continue with regular tuition after this session?
Sure. Study Clinic is a standalone offering, which has no conflicts with regular tuition. If it becomes clear your child would benefit in a different format, I'll notify you directly and we can discuss what that looks like - no pressure either way.
